The Earth is a fragile organism. We can only rely on non-renewable resources for so long. Eventually we will run out, and when that time comes, will we be prepared? Not only is there the threat of running out, but the kinds of resources that we are using are depleting the Earth, and it’s ozone layer.
There has been talk about “the greenhouse effect” and global warming for a long time, but we seem to deny the inevitable outcome of our actions. We are already experiencing the shortest winters, and the hottest temperatures ever recorded worldwide. This has created stronger storms, and people refuse to put two and two together.
Could Hurricane Katrina have been prevented? The Earth has withstood landfills and pollution, but there is only so much that it can take.
Renewable energy is the only logical solution. Clean energy is cost efficient, as well as less damaging towards the atmosphere and environment. Going green is not just a slogan, but a way of life that we need to embrace before it’s too late.
