Renewable energy may not seem like that big of a deal to you at the moment, especially if you get your power from a service with Reliant Energy Rates, but for those of us who like to think far into the future, reliable and renewable energy sources are constantly on our mind. All of the exhaustible sources of energy like coal and oil are being used up in record time and there will be a point in the coming future where we can no longer rely on these sources of energy – they will be gone. Thankfully, science has already given us a few sources of renewable energy:
1. Wind Power
Through the use of carefully constructed wind turbines, these wind farms could pay off in the end but require a long-term investment.
2. Hydropower
This method of energy production has been in use for quite a few years with dams being the primary example. Water is denser than air which means even slow-moving streams or small swells can yield tremendous amounts of energy.
3. Solar Energy
Vast arrays of solar panels are assembled to capture the energy from the sun in the form of solar radiation which can be applied to everyday things like heating the home or cooking.

A greener earth is best for all humanity. In order to preserve the earth and save our natural resources we have to look out for and benefit all organisms. It is not always a full out process, you can gradually start to make some changes. It is something everyone should consider. Renewable energy however is a great breakthrough in this process as well.
Renewable energy just may be the answer to our future. Renewable energy is energy that comes Read more…

The Earth is a fragile organism. We can only rely on non-renewable resources for so long. Eventually we will run out, and when that time comes, will we be prepared? Not only is there the threat of running out, but the kinds of resources that we are using are depleting the Earth, and it’s ozone layer.
There has been talk about “the greenhouse effect” and global warming for a long time, but we seem to deny the inevitable outcome Read more…

Renewable energy is smart for the environment and smart for your pocketbook. While the initial set up may be a bit steep, the return on the investment is priceless. Using renewable energy at any level or form will help the average household cut their dependence on fossilfuels, help keep the planet green, and cut utility bills.
Renewable energy can, for the most part, be used to power and energize whatever one would use propane or natural gas or electricity for. Renewable energy can power tvs, stereos, Read more…

The idea of not only doing my part for the environment, but also being free of the continuously rising cost of electricity makes renewable energy for my home extremely attractive. I have looked into several things for my home and thought I would share it with the aspiring family looking at becoming self-sufficient in their electric and fuel needs.
The first major thing that you need to understand is that whether you go the route of solar, wind or some other electric power source, this is not a short term commitment. The whole story can be found at http://edmortimer.wordpress.com/2011/08/12/how-to-make-solar-powered-heaters/ The costs are long Read more…
